Authentic atmosphere and a variety of options for dishes and drinks. Corn chowder soup was so tasty and good enough to make me feel warm. Panini was well cooked with healthy ingredients. This place will be our go-to lunch restaurant.

Shockingly good and fresh salad. Cozy environment. Highly recommend if you're in the area. If they have their mushroom soup get a huge bowl, it's delicious

Amazing food, friendly staff. Very pleasant outdoor seating was an option we enjoyed. There were 4 of us aged 18-79 and we were all pleased with how great the food tasted.

This restaurant had the most cozy “stars hollow” but colonial Salem vibes imaginable. Their pimento cheese is off the charts amazing and the live music made it feel like home. 12/10 could eat everything off the menu.

Very cute little cafe! Had the Egg Salad sandwich and potato salad. I might have to go back just for the potato salad lol The wait times were a little long, but it was a good opportunity to sit and relax out of the sun. There were some very rude customers one table over complaining to (and about) the waitstaff (who were doing their best considering how many customers they each had to serve). This is a reminder to treat people with kindness, especially those in service positions.

Muddy Creek Cafe offers sandwiches, sides, and cold drinks in the middle of Old Salem. It is centrally located and is a great place to find food to tide you over, rest a bit, and help replenish your energy as you explore the Old Salem Museums and Gardens. There is even coffee if you need a pick-me-up! They have outside seating as well, under the shade of umbrellas.

My father and his friend play music at Muddy Creek every once in awhile on weekends. So my boyfriend finally made it out to see them play and join my mother for dinner. Most of the parking lot was already full but we found a place towards the back. We sat outside at the table closest to the fan.The weather was beautiful that evening. Even if we hadn't sat near the fan, it still would have been great. Temps had cooled down and there was a bit of a breeze. The food was excellent. I checked the reviews before we went so I ordered the pimento cheese panini with spicy bacon and tomatoes, as recommended by several other reviewers. The add ons were only a buck extra and so worth it. The sandwich was great. I ordered potato salad as my side and it was equally as good. My boyfriend ordered the chips and salsa and my mother ordered the roast beef. I had a couple bites of their food and it was just as good. My boyfriend went back in to grab another beer and brought us out two of the white chocolate, cherry cookies. They were soft, delicious, and just decadent enough without being too rich. The crowd was just like the atmosphere here, very relaxed and mellow. Seating was pretty much full by the time we got our food but people started heading out when it got darker. I really can't wait to go back again soon. Muddy Creek seems like such a great place.

Muddy Creek Cafe in Old Salem is a hidden gem - I feel like it is not as well-known as it should be. Such a cozy, quaint atmosphere with a great menu. Although I'm a frequent visitor, we had an especially nice time taking my mom and grandmother for Mother's Day. We sat outside on the patio with live music - it's an unbeatable location and I'd certainly recommend it to out-of-town guests looking for a unique WS experience.
